A classic grilled cheese with a twist.
2 Tbsp butter, softened
2 slices hearty bread
4 slices mozzarella cheese
1/8 cup chopped fresh basil
Preheat oven to 400°.
Butter one side of each of the pieces of sourdough bread.
Place one slice of bread on a sheet pan, buttered side down. Top with half of the mozzarella, half of the chopped basil, and half of the tomato jam. Repeat the layer with the other half of the mozzarella, chopped. basil and tomato jam. Place the other slice of bread on top, buttered side up
Bake for approximately 8-10 minutes until bread is browned and cheese is melted.
Remove from oven, and slice in half with a serrated knife if desired. Serve immediately.
